“The most important thing is to enjoy your life- to be happy- that's all that matters."
- Audrey Hepburn
Hello! My name is Kate Morelli, and I am a student at Auburn University in Alabama. I will complete my Public Relations degree in December 2015. After one graduation ceremony and a 634-mile move, I will begin my first full-time job in January 2016 as an Account Assistant at Subject Matter, a full-service public affairs and government relations agency.
I discovered my passion for Public Relations through unconventional means: football. From 2009 to 2012, I served as a student athletic trainer for three of my high school’s athletic teams, but I developed the strongest connections with the football players, coaches, and the sport itself. Although I enjoyed the medical aspect of the game, I quickly learned it was the opportunity to work with people that made football so special to me. I have continued to nurture my love for Public Relations and football throughout college as Publicity Chair for Auburn’s Tigerettes and Tiger Hosts, a group of students who serve as Public Relations representatives to the university’s athletics department.
Because I am so incredibly passionate about Public Relations and football, I always imagined working for a college or professional sports team. However, after completing an internship in Washington, D.C. this summer, I realized I would be happy working in areas other than football. I am eager to explore the world, meet new people, and take chances.
Although I was born in Washington, D.C., Roswell, Georgia, has been my home for 19 years. Living and going to school in the South has definitely given me “southern belle” qualities and a deep love for southern culture, but my incredible parents have made sure I have expanded my horizons, too.
In my free time, I enjoy laughing with my goofy family, watching Auburn football games, traveling around the world, playing with my 15-pound cat Teapot, shopping at Target, and catching up with friends.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me and to look at my digital resume and portfolio. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
